Keillor Cabin
In 2009, Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association received a grant from Community Facility Enhancement Program to restore Dr. Keillor's historic 1918 log cabin to community use.The cabin was hand-built by Dr. Keillor upon his return from WWI using local wood and river rock. Over the fireplace mantle, he placed a heart-shaped stone.
We're now booking business meetings, parties and weddings in this unique log cabin which overlooks the North Saskatchewan River and Trans Canada Trail. Make your events memorable amidst horses, gracious trees, stone and rail fences at Edmonton's heritage farm 'where river valley trails began'. $200./day or $125./four hours. Phone 780-435-3597.
Keillor Cabin may be rented out for meetings and events during operating hours: 6am – 10pm. The log cabin is suitable for small weddings, receptions, reunions, meetings, seminars, etc. which would not infringe on the residence next door, the horses, lessons or Little Bits programs, or the park corridor in terms of noise and traffic. Overnight stays are expressly forbidden. The Cabin holds a maximum of 20 people for boardroom-style meetings and up to 40 for special events and receptions. We supply thirty chairs, ten 30-inch round tables and two rectangular boardroom tables. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted onsite.
